If you choose to parent, you won't be alone.
Deciding to be a parent is a big deal even when the pregnancy is planned. At Abiding Hope, we believe a surprised parent is just as capable as one who became pregnant intentionally.
Still, you may be wrestling with important questions, like…
- Does my partner want to have this child?
- Is my family going to be supportive?
- How will the child affect my education or job?
- What effect will the child have on my finances?
- Amy I old enough or responsible enough to raise a child?
Our supportive staff are here to help you process these questions and provide you with helpful resources.

Resources & Help for Parents
Parenting Classes
Abiding Hope offers a wide range of parenting education and life skills classes at no cost to you. Our Parenting Classes help answer many of the questions you may have about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
Local Resources
There are a number of great resources in Madison and Buncombe counties and the surrounding area. We will provide you with a list of these resources, including childcare assistance, pregnancy care management, trusted Ob/Gyn Physicians, and more.
North Carolina offers Medicaid for Pregnant Women (MPW) or pregnancy medicaid, a full-coverage program with benefits limited solely to pregnancy-related care. When you come in for your first pregnancy confirmation appointment, we will give resources for obtaining pregnancy Medicaid if you do not have insurance.

By participating in classes, expectant mothers earn points to spend on new and gently used maternity and baby items. Items in our baby store include diapers, wipes, baby and maternity clothes, hygiene items, and more!
